Book Fair
It is time for the Book Fair. Lots of books to pick from and the best part is, they all BOGO. BOGO means you Buy One and Get One free. We got some entertaining books like Monters Inc. and Dora the Explorer. We also got a book with experiments we can do. The plan is do at one or two experiments each week over the summer.
Note: Find a book with "To-Do" activities. Do one activity a week all summer long.

WALL-E Diorama
The project was to re-create a scene from a book inside a box, and create a puppet of the main character as well.
After changing his mind six times, he finally decided on a book called, WALL-E, Smash Trash. The scene selected, WALL-E finds a fire extinguisher. If you have seen the movie, you know what happens next. WALL-E sets the fire extinguisher off and starts to float around while kicking up trash dust all over the place.
This is the scene set up in the box ...
WALL-E's roach friend ...
and the main character ... WALL-E!
The best part of this project was watching my son carry it into his classroom with a big smile on his face as his classmates were telling him it looked cool.

Hello World!
I'm a mom? When did that happen? Was it not only last week I was trying to figure out how to get to the dry cleaners after work and still make it on time for my date with my boyfriend? Apparently it was not last week. He is now my husband and I run around with two little ones trying to keep them clean and dry.
Being a mom is an adventure, to say the least. Some days it is awesome, and other days it is a bad dream. No matter what kind of day it is, I love my kids. In many ways they give me an excuse to be a kid again, ... But! This time I have a driver's license, I can have cake for breakfast, stay up as late as I want, and Santa always puts me on the Nice List.
In no way am I the ideal TV mom. All my motherly, homemaker, domestic, ... skills have much room for improvement. All I can say is that we have all survived the past 6 years of my being mom. My son is 6 and my daughter is 4, so maybe I am not doing too bad of a job at being mom.
The forecast for "Kid Mom Adventures" is, a series of glimpses into our crazy world while we figure out what our next step is. Join us as we try to decipher the characters in Skylander Giants, how Sofia the First fits in the world of princess', explore the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and many, many more half-baked adventures.
